Minister of Music - Stephen Barnett
Stephen was born in 1971 and raised in the McKinney area. Stephen was first introduced to his Savior in 1982 during VBS First Baptist Weston. When he moved to Weston in 1985, he joined the church by baptism.
Stephen and his beautiful wife, Katie, both graduated from Celina HS. They were married in 1995 and lived in Dallas and Frisco while both focused on their education. Stephen graduated from UTD @ Dallas with a Business degree while Katie attained her BS in nursing from TWU.
Stephen and Katie have three very active children - 10-5 years in age; Zoie, Zane, and Zeke. Once Stephen and Katie began to start a family, they returned to the Celina area.
Stephen currently has 4 generations of members at First Baptist Weston. In 2006 Stephen and Katie moved their church membership to First Baptist Weston by letter to help their childhood church reestablish itself within the Weston community.
Once Stephen rejoined First Baptist Weston, he immediately began to lead worship because that is what "the Lord was calling me to do".
"I've always loved singing, and I've done it all my church life. I felt it was time that my children saw me doing what God had indented for me to do. Instead of looking for a church that had activities for my kids, we returned to the church that can help us all get closer to our Savior. We've been blessed ever since our commitment to Weston."
